Executive Director Dr. Juanita Perea - Sandy Shore Room
Dr. Juanita Perea was born and raised in Acambaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. From there she migrated to the United States in 1989, when she was 14 years old. Dr. Perea attended CSU Monterey Bay from 1995-2003 and graduated with honors. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Communication and Liberal Studies, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master of Arts in Education. She also attended CSU San Jose from 2003-2005 and completed the requirements to earn her Master of Arts in Administration and an Administrative Credential. In 2008, Dr. Perea received a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from a joint program at CSU Monterey Bay, CSU San Jose, and UC Santa Cruz.
Dr. Perea has been in the education field for the past 16 years. She also has business and people management experience, which compliment what she offers to the Oasis community. Dr. Perea has taught kindergarten through the Master's level and came to Oasis in January 2008 as an Assistant Director. At Oasis, she has taught math, dance, and small focus groups. Dr. Perea was promoted from Director of Education to Executive Director in August of 2012. Her goal is for Oasis to be one of the most desired schools in the county due to its high academic and social development standards. Besides her interest in education, she loves mountain biking and motorcycle riding. Dr. Perea enjoys vacationing in the beaches of Mexico every summer and winter while reading biographies and autobiographies is her favorite hobby at home.
Elizabeth Bernhardt - Tide Pool Room
Elizabeth Bernhardt is the Instructional Coordinator at Oasis Charter Public School. She has been in elementary education for 10 years. She obtained her teaching credentialing through CalStateTEACH and graduated from CSU Monterey Bay with a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Child Development. She just graduated with her Masters in Teaching Mathematics through Western Governor's University. Her hobbies are playing tennis, going to tea parties, and traveling. She lives with her husband and four cats. Elizabeth loves working at Oasis.
Lucy Zepeda - Sand Dollar Room
This is Teacher Lucy's fifth year at Oasis. She attended Hartnell Community College and received her Associate's Degree. She then transferred to California State University Monterey Bay and received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in kenisiology. She completed the teacher credentialing program through Cal State Teach-Monterey Bay. Lucy is happily married and has one son, and two daughters. During her spare time, she spends quality time with her children, and enjoys watching movies and reading. Lucy is excited to start this school year as the academic coach for Oasis. She wants to support the teachers and students as much as possible.
