Second Grade

Teacher Jessica - Sea Otter Room

Teacher Olivia - Octopus Room

Teacher Olivia was born and raised in Michoacán, Mexico. She came to the United States when she was 17 and started school here. She attended Hartnell College and got her Associate’s Degree in General Studies. She transferred to UCLA in 2010 and got her B.A. in Spanish with a Minor in Latin American Studies. She came back to Salinas and started working with Oasis in 2014 where she was an aide for 2 years and then promoted as a teacher. Although this is her first official year as a teacher, she has experience volunteering in different schools and in different grade levels. When she’s not teaching she enjoys going to concerts, swimming, reading, spending time with her family, and traveling. She is very happy being part of the Oasis community and is excited to teach 2nd grade this year and learn from the kids as well.
