Isibindi- House of Courage
Like a pride of African lions, Isibindi is a close-knit community where family is important. Incoming members are empowered by the House’s emblematic creatures, the lion and the silent swan. New students may be reserved or quiet at first, but as they spend more time in the House, they start to show signs of courage and strength. Isibindi means “courage” in Zulu.
The contrast in sharing symbolic creatures, such as the graceful swan and the noble lion, is what sets Isibindi apart. Isibindi excels at being both strategic and imaginative, understanding when to hold back and when to unleash its strength and power. This is the reason Isibindi embraces both artistic and reserved children, guiding them to become leaders over time. They discover that, much like the silent swan, their quiet creativity can convey profound messages in its unique way.
